The Peninsula will be a community for 3,000 people (approximately 1,000 – 1,200 dwellings) located in Victoria Park 3km from Perth’s CBD.
The rationale for the project is that good urban design allows for higher densities, as well as providing for alternative housing choices.
The residential towers at The Peninsula form a ribbon through the site, rather than an impermeable wall. One of the largest towers, ‘Aurora’, cuts a swathe through the landscape. The circular park is framed by low rise terrace homes, was modelled on a village green.
The design’s strong relationship between the interior and exterior spaces captures the city, Swan River and landscaped parkland views, whilst maintaining privacy.
